Westchester Summer Events
Here’s a quick list of a few of the regional events taking place this summer that we are looking forward to!
1. Yonkers Ukrainian Heritage Festival
Who doesn’t love a chance to get better acquainted with one of the many cultures on our planet? Spend a day noshing on delicious Ukranian food, listening to live music, watching folk dancing, and having tons of fun! The Yonkers Ukrainian Heritage Festival takes place June 15-17.
2. Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival
Magnificent hardly begins to describe the sight of dozens of hot air balloons floating through the sky. It’s downright inspiring to see so many balloons each summer at the Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival; we highly recommend you check it out! There are opportunities to ride in the balloons, as well as helicopter rides, games, and hayrides. Fun for the entire family, enjoy the balloons from July 6-8, this year.
3. Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival
One of our favorite summer festivals is the Great Hudson River Revival because it offers so much to do! Listen to live music from multiple stages, check out the jugglers, and contribute to the effort to keep the Hudson River clean. Definitely a great family event, you can easily spend an entire day soaking in all the activities on deck. Choose to go for just a day, or enjoy the full two days, instead. The festival takes place on June 16 and 17.
4. 14th Annual Pleasantville Music Festival
Each summer Pleasantville offers a day of music and fun in the form of the Pleasantville Music Festival. This year the festival takes place on July 14th and will be featuring artists such as The Psychedelic Furs, The Lone Bellow, and Cracker. It’s a family-friendly festival, and tickets and more information can be found right here.
5. Dutchess County Fair
One of the largest county fairs in all of New York, the Dutchess County Fair features the entire gamut of activities. Check out the horticultural show, watch the racing pigs, take your kids into the Celebration Mega Tent. The fair takes place from August 21-26, giving fair-goers five full days to savor all of the activities, foods, and rides.
These are just a few of our favorite events, but there are plenty more throughout Westchester and the Hudson Valley for you to explore and enjoy. A great resource for all things Westchester is Westchester Magazine.
